Wilson graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and did a postgraduate year at St. Christopher's School. He held a degree from The University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business. After completing his education, Wilson was an officer in the United States Coast Guard serving in the North Atlantic and later stationed in St. Thomas, USVI. Upon his discharge from the Coast Guard, he returned to Richmond where he was an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur, still holding the position of Chairman of TCA, Inc at the time of his death.
Wilson was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his older brother, Thomas Coleman Andrews, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sherry Truesdell Andrews; three children, Dr. Wilson Pittman Andrews, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Andrews Richardson and husband, Crit, of Crozier, Virginia, and James Turner Andrews and wife, Cindy, of Stilwell, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Will, Katie and Christopher Andrews, Taylor, Matthew, Robert and Sarah Richardson, Lauren, Thomas and Turner Andrews; cousin, William Lee Andrews and wife, Linda.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. A burial ceremony will be held at 11AM Wednesday May 30, 2012 in Hollywood Cemetery.
