Raymond and his brother WT1 William Bailey Belk were lost at sea together aboard the
USS Pillsbury DD-227 in the South Java Sea.
Sunk by Japanese Destroyers the night of March 1, 1942.

Department of the United States Navy declared all on board lost at sea
November 25, 1945
