Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Moreland DeLoach, 72 of 144 Barbour St., widow Of William A DeLoach, died early Sunday morning at Hartford Hospital after a short illness. Born in Cuthburt, GA she lived in the Hartford area 43 years. She was a member of Union Baptist Church 35 years and had served as secretary of its Pastor's Aid Society. She was a member of Trellis Temple, IBPO Elks of the World, Stella Chapter, OES, and the auxiliary of McKinney Chapter, American Legion.
She leaves two sons, William and Oris DeLoach of Hartford; a daughter, Mrs. Ester DeLoach Watson of Hartford; three brothers, Arthur and William Moreland of Hartford and Charles Moreland of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Smith and Mrs. Laura Sims of Hartford; five grandchildren and a great-grand child.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, with prayers at 520 Garden Street at 11:30 and a service in Union Baptist Church at noon. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Wilson. Friends may call at the James Funeral Home, 2016 Main St., Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Elk services will be held that night at 8, with an OES service at 8:30 p.m.
