BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: John CONARD, farmer and stock-raiser, Section 31, P. O. Mission Creek. He is a native of Franklin County, Ind., where he was connected with the farming industry until 1863, when he enlisted in Company D, One Hundred and Twenty-third Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and remained in active service until the end of the war, when he was honorably discharged. In 1867, he came here and engaged in his present industry, which he has very successfully conducted since. He was married in 1869 to Miss Elizabeth Winter, who was born and reared in Indiana. They have a family of one son and three daughters -- Joseph B., Clara B. Jessie F. and Myrta Z.
