Pleasant Duckworth, a veteran of the Civil War, passed away at his home in the south part of town, at 6:15 o'clock Wednesday evening. He was nearly 81 years of age, had resided here a number of years, and was a faithful member of Henderson Post G. A. R.
He served during the war in Company G, 120th Indiana Volunteer Infantry.
He was tenderly cared for during his last illness by his daughter, Mrs. Dora Stroup, with whom he made his home.
Besides the daughter here, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Maude Garrison of Summerfield, and a son Oscar Duckworth of Atchison, and several grandchildren and other relatives.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, with burial in Willow Hill cemetery. Henderson W. R. C. will conduct the ritualistic services.
