Mrs. Amelia Miller, 88, Service Held Tuesday

Mrs. Amelia Miller, 88, resident of this immediate area for the past 69 years, died Saturday evening at 8 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.J. Kane in Minneapolis.

Cause of death was listed as cancer after an illness of six months. The deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mose Allard in New York state Feb. 24, 1866. She was married to Samuel Miller of this county in 1887 and then made their home on several farms in this area.

Survivors include the following sons: Joseph of East Grand Forks, Nap of Oklee, Ernest of Minneapolis, George of Bagley. Daughters: Mrs. Arthur Normandeau of this city, Mrs. William Morinville of Brooks, Mrs. William Lessard of International Falls, Mrs. William Hunter of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. L.J. Kane of Minneapolis.

Her husband and a son, Omer and a daughter, Hazel, preceded her in death. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. E.G. Buse and Mrs. Dan Paul of this city, and Mrs. Delia Miner of Haverhill, Mass., a brother, Joseph Allard of Bemidji survives as do a large number of grandchildren.

The deceased was treasurer of the school board in Gervais for many years and was also a member of St. Anne's Society.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church with Rev. Keough Patnode, celebrant at the requiem high Mass, Bev. William Keefe, deacon and Rev. Paul Cardin, sub-deacon.

Pall-bearers were Emmett and Lawrence Morinville, Leslie, Jack, Kenneth and Earl Miller, all grandchildren. Honorary pall-bearers were Memes. Chas. Patnode, Jos. Champous, Omer Houle, Rose Surprenant, Jos. Vezina and Henry Paquin, all members of the St. Anne's Society.

Sons and daughters of deceased from out-of-town attended services as did Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Larson of Hallock and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Miller and son of Grand Forks.
