Jerome Longtin later married Addis (Addies) name spelled both ways Allard in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota on December 27, 1883.
Jerome Longtin, 83 years of age, pioneer of Red Lake county, died at his home in this city Sunday morning at 7:30 o.clock following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Longtin was one of the true pioneers having taken a quarter section homestead two and a half miles east of the city 50 years ago. When he first came here from Beauharnois, Province of Quebec, Canada. He was one of the first supervisors of the township of Gervais having been elected when the township was first organized.
Jerome Longtin was born at Beaucharnois, Quebec, Canada on August 10, 1874. He came to this county 50 years ago taking a homestead in what is now Gervais township. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Addis Allard, daughter of the late Mose Allard at St. Joseph's church in this city.
Besides his widow he is survived by four daughter. Mrs. Amelia Dawson, Goldendale, Wash., Mrs. Ernest Patnode, Red Lake Falls, Mrs. Edward Rolle, Brinsmade, N. D., Mrs. John Kees, Red Lake Falls, and three sons, Clifford and Leo Longtin. Red lake Falls and Harry Longtin, Shevilin. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Timothy Longtin, Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada and Louis Longtin, Duluth, Minn., also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church in this city, a solemn high mass being celebrated with Rev. E. J. Lemire officiating and Rev. E. J. Lemire officiating and Rev. E. J. Paquin and Rev. E. Bossus assisting. Pallbearers were Henry Patnode, Sam Miller, Charles Patnode, Theo. Majeres, Jeff porter and Peter Emard.
