Funeral services for Harvey M. Bublitz, 71, of St. Ansgar, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center Friday, Sept. 28, were held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Norman E. Betke officiating.

Harvey Herman Bublitz was born in Newburg township September 22, 1908, the son of Reinhold and Martha (nee Dieterich) Bublitz. Because of his frailty at birth he was also baptized September 22 by the Rev. John Becker, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township. He was confirmed April 13, 1924 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. Paul Brammer.

Mr. Bublitz remained at home and assisted his father with a farm operation until his father's retirement, when he took over the home place. He married Ruby Blegeberg November 23, 1944 in Kensett with the Rev. T. Sigmond officiating.

They continued to farm until his health began to fail two years ago when he retired and moved to St. Ansgar. Mr. Bublitz was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, and also had been a member of Farm Bureau during his farming years.

After hospitalizations in 1977, 1978 and the summer of 1979, he had been a resident of the Good Samaritan center here the past month and a half.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; three daughters, Mrs. Allan (Marilyn) Schmidt of St. Ansgar; Mrs. James (Judy) Olson of Forest City; and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Marreel of Osage; seven grandchildren: Scott and Michell Schmidt, Jennifer, Jori and Jessina Olson, and Justin and Robert Marreel; two brothers: Arnold of St. Ansgar; and Lawrence of Anaheim, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Eleanor) Boerjan of St. Ansgar; also nieces and nephews....

Mr. Bublitz was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, WIlmer and an infant son.
