Final Tributes Paid D. Johnstun on September 10.

Final tribute was paid to Darrel Johnstun at funeral services held September 10 at Vernal Third Ward Chapel under the direction of the bishopric. Mr. Johnstun, 65, died September 7 at his home following a brief illness.

The prayer at the mortuary was by Bishop Samuel B. Woolley. The opening song at the chapel was, "Sometime We'll Understand," sung by a mixed quartet including Roberta Ufford, Elizabeth Sowards, Ray E. Spendlove, Glade Sowards and accompanied by Mary Schaefermeyer.

M. M. Cood offered the invocation. A duet, "That Eilver-Haired Daddy of Mine," was sung by Elizabeth and Glade Sowards. Colleen Simper offered a grandaughter's tribute. First speaker was Harmon S. Sowards. "Beyond the Sunset," was sung by a trio composed of Alice Wooley, Pat Stewart and Roberta Ufford and was narrated by Evelyn Richardson.

Second speaker was Lt. Walter Wooley. The closing song, "Going Home," was sung by the trio Byron Goodrich gave the benediction. Interment was in the Vernal Memotial Park Cemetery. Owen Johnstun dedicated the grave.

Pallbearers were Lynn Johnstun, LaVell Johnstun, Dennis Simper, Gary Simper, Frank Quibbell and Don Roberts.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Simper and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Simper and family, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Johnstun, all of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Roberts and family, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Stoker and Mrs. Donna Rae Curry and son, all of Newport, Oregon; William Johnstun and Mrs. Jean Marshall, San Jose, California; Mr. and Mrs. Owen Johnstun, Warren, Oregon; Mrs. Carol Arnold and daughter, Price; Lynn Johnstun, Roosevelt;

Darrel Ray Johnstun and twin sister, Delpha May Johnstun were born to Lauretta Maria Henry and Alma James Johnstun.

Darrel married Erma May Hardy August 14, 1916 in Vernal, Utah.
