Early Life: Melvina was born December 10, 1932, in Bicknell, Utah, to Robert Franklin and Mary Louisa Ellett Durfey. The family moved from Bicknell to Provo when she was a young girl where she attended school.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Melvina married Harold J. Green on September 2, 1948, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harold passed away in 2006. She and Harold made their first home in Provo and later moved to Covina, California, where they raised their family. The Green home in Covina was a central location for family and friends to visit from Utah and enjoy all that southern California had to offer. They moved back to Pleasant Grove, Utah, in 1991. Melvina and Harold enjoyed the many hunting, fishing and camping trips with family and friends and loved spending time dancing together. They traveled extensively and enjoyed trips to Europe, Hawaii, New York and many other places with friends and family. She loved playing cards, board games and checkers with her grandchildren and family. Nothing brought Melvina more joy than spending time with family. Melvina Ellett Durfey Green, of Pleasant Grove, passed away peacefully in Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was 81.
Survived By: Her five children: Diane (Russell) Conroy, San Dimas, CA; Judy (Tom) Grieve, Lehi; Doug (Vivian) Green, Pleasant Grove; Rileen (Jason) Hartman, Pleasant Grove and Kaylene (Bruce) Manwaring, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters: Cora Burgess, Orem; Clara Pueblo, Orem; Neva Gillman, Lindon; and brother-in-law, Stanley Taylor, Orem.
