Emery moved to Quebec, Canada with his parents about 1822 but returned to Vermont as a young man where he married Mary Ann Wetherbee. They settled on a farm near Brandon, Vermont where they lived until their death. They had three children; Julia 1850--1925, Frank Emery and Wilmer 1862--1948
