Mrs. Malvina Jones passed away at her home Monday afternoon, Sept. 9, after an illness of long duration. She was born in Raywick, Marion County, Kentucky, May 30, 1865. She was 75 years, 3 months and 9 days of age.
Mrs. Jones was married to Thomas J. Craven in Louisville, KY., who proceeded her in death, July 28, 1903. To this union were born four children; Mrs. Caroline Ella Adams of Wyanet, Mrs. Ida Mae Curtiss of Peoria, Mr. William Craven of Spring Valley, and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) Walters of Wyanet.
Later, she was married to Mr. Elijah Jones at Lebanon, KY. Mr. Jones had been the best man at the wedding of Malvina and Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Jones came to Illinois in 1911 where they have made their home ever since.
She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, her four children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren and many friends.
Mrs. Jones suffered a broken limb last March and since that time has spent some time at the Princeton hospital. She was brought home several weeks ago and has been lovingly cared for by her daughter, Ella, with the assistance of other children.
Mrs. Jones bore her suffering bravely, always looking to the Lord for help and comfort. She received special help from her daily reading of the Bible.
She was loving mother, a devoted Christian, also a faithful member of the Wesleyan Methodist church.
She has left this world of sorrow and suffering for a beautiful home on high. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 11 at 2 o'clock from the Wesleyan Methodist church. Rev. Bert Griffin officiated. Burial was made in Forest Hill cemetery.
