Mrs. Minnie Englund was born in Necedah, Wisconsin on February 2, 1893, the daughter of Hans and Mary Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. When she was 20 years of age, she came to Alexandria, Minnesota.
On November 1, 1911, she was united in marriage to Erick Englund. Mr. and Mrs. Englund farmed in the Alexandria and Nelson area. Mr. Englund preceded her in death in 1955.
Mrs. Englund has been a resident of the Knute Nelson Memorial Home for the past years, where she passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 1973 at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by one son, Elmer Englund of Minneapolis; three granddaughters: Marilyn (nee Englund) (Mrs. David Spano) of Minneapolis, Linnae (nee Englund) (Mrs. Gary Weimar) of Minneapolis; Paula Englund of Minneapolis; also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Lisa Spano.

Not sure where and when he died.
Some confusion of Minnie's maiden name in her obituary. The maiden name is Wietzke in her children's birth certificates, and her MOTHER'S Maiden name is listed as Peterson. Not sure what is right.
There is more information in Ella's sister's obit (Minnie Englund) also buried at Nelson Cemetery, findagrave # 99709615. Minnie's mother's maiden name is given as Wietzke, so I wonder if they were half sisters? It says that at age 9, Ella and her father came to Douglas County, but yet in 1893, a sister named Minnie, whose mother's maiden name was Wietzke, was born in Necedah Wisconsin. Maybe a 2nd wife of Hans Peterson. And Minnie Peterson Englund didn't come to Nelson until she was 20. So was in Wisconsin?
Erick Englund (1881 - 1959)
