Burley Green Glasscock was the son of Henry Franklin "Frank" Glasscock and Amanda Catherine "Mandy" Griffith. He was born on April 11, 1892 in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas.
Burley had 10 siblings: Belvy Leila Glasscock (West), Earl Smith Glasscock, Robert Dolphus "Dolf" Glasscock, Minnie Mavis Glasscock (Jones), Henry Walter Glasscock, William Albert "Bill" Glasscock, George Almus Glasscock and Mabel Eleanor Glasscock (both of whom died in infancy), Herman Otis "Lefty" Glasscock and Ethel B. Glasscock (Shane).
He enlisted in the US Army on August 13, 1918. As the story goes, Burley (wearing his uniform in the picture to the right) got on the train to go to war on 11 Nov 1918 only to get right back off again after it was announced WWI had ended. He went back to live at his mother's home, who was by now a widow; he was discharged from the Army on January 4, 1919. Burley was a farmer who never married or had children.
Burley died in Wesley, Oklahoma on April 26, 1961. He was buried alongside his family at Wesley Cemetery.
