Claude Richard "Rick" Glasscock was the son of Earl Smith Glasscock and Iva Mae "Ivy" Conger Britton. He was a career soldier in the US Army, serving from his draft in August 1969 to his retirement in July 1992. He was a veteran of both the Vietnam and Gulf wars. Rick died unexpectedly due to complications of surgery at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was cremated in lieu of burial after receiving full military honors.

Prior to his death, Rick owned a lovely home in Lawton with his fourth wife, Gertrude "Gerdi" Rogale Foster, who survives him and with whom he raised two step children, Martin and Suzanne Foster (Davis). Rick and Gerdi were married in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 15, 1991.

Rick's family lived in Roaring Springs, Texas at the time of his birth. He had a total of 10 siblings between his parents, who both had children from previous marriages. His half siblings from his father's first marriage to Emma Gertrude Burns were: Ruby Hazel Glasscock (Hammond) and Clarence Gee Glasscock.

His half siblings from his mother's first marriage to Boyd Franklin Britton were: Essie Pauline Britton (Pair), Allen Leo Britton, Edna Lorene Britton (McClish), Dorothy Ola Britton (Akins), and James Leon Britton. One brother, Charles Clifford Britton, was given the Britton name but his biological father's name is not known.

Finally, Rick's siblings from his parents' union were: Franklin Dee "Frank" Glasscock, Leonard Lee Glasscock, and Ivan Garland Glasscock. As of this date (6 Jun 2013), Garland is the only sibling still living.

Rick is also survived by his first wife, Mildred Elonore Hawk, and their daughters Dixie Lorraine Glasscock (Saddler) and Belinda Fay Glasscock (Sagona); his second wife (whom he married and divorced twice), Barbara Jean Gary (Nance), and their daughter Sherri Lynn Glasscock (Lee); and his third wife, JoBeth Peckio (Robinson), to whom he was married only for a brief time. As well, he is survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Rick loved nothing more than a good road trip, except for maybe an ice cold Budweiser. He utterly adored his Yorkie "Hammer Dog". He hated Texas, and seemed to be drawn to Oklahoma. He always said that Elvis Presley's "My Way" should be played at his funeral. He was an intelligent, clever man, and so witty-- always telling jokes and pulling pranks. He loved God, his family, and his freedom. He will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace, Dad.
