~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ron grew up in North Bend with a lot of close family. He attended local schools and graduated from Mt Si High School. He went to work at an early age for his Uncle Joe Ribary doing farm chores and delivering milk for Sunset Dairy. After high school he worked in the woods for a while and then got hired at 18 at Darigold-Rainier as a truck driver. He retired from there a supervisor 37 years later.
He and his wife, Marge, after raising 2 sons, purchased another piece of land in Fall City in 1983, where they have lived since their marriage in 1956. Ron loved it there and worked very hard to make it a working farm. Part of the farming that he really loved was buying and selling livestock, whether off the farm or at livestock auctions. He went with friends and fellow farmers to auctions all over the state and sometimes into Idaho. People who knew him would expect him to like the competition of a live auction.
Through the years he enjoyed his many hobbies. He packed into the mountains on horseback to hunt. He flew into the Alaska bush to hunt and a few years ago went on a gentleman’s hunting trip to Utah. He enjoyed several years of scuba diving and provided his family with fresh seafood from many of those dives. He caught fish in Florida, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, American Samoa and the last few years off our coast sturgeon and salmon.
Ron was a charter member of the Issaquah Elks and an active member of the Snoqualmie Eagles Club. He was a volunteer firefighter in Fall City for 20 years.
Ron’s family is close and he loved the family gatherings.He loved them all. His sister, his brother and sister in law, his cousins and his nieces and nephews were all very special to him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marge, of 57 years, his sons, Ron and Ken and his grandson, Ben, all of Fall City. He left behind his sister, Joanne Lockwood, her husband, Walt and their children, Walter and Karen. Missing him also, his sister in law, Peggy Cartmell and her children, and many nieces and nephews.
