Leroy Nelson
Milltown, Killed
In Hunting Mishap
The tragedy of a hunting accident
shocked the Milltown community
last Thursday, Oct. 12,
when word spread that Leroy
Nelson, 15, son of Walter Nelson.
had been accidentally shot and
killed at 11 a. m. that day. It
happened about 11 miles south-
west of Grantsburg, in town of
Anderson, Burnett county, where
Leroy, accompanied by his dad
and Herb Shoholm and son, Gor-
don Shoholm, had gone duck
hunting. According to Sheriff
Iverson, Gordon Sboholm shot at

ed the trigger Leroy stepped in-
to the line of fire and received
the full. charge from a 12 ga
shotgun m the back of his right
shoulder, at 8 or 10 feet. Death
was instantaneous.
Sheriff George Iverson and
Coroner Ray Swedberg investigated
and found death to have
been caused wholly through accident,

strange things that seem to happen
once out of ten thousand
times.
