Ben L. Ezzell, 76, of Holliday, died Thursday, December 15, 2011.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Holliday with Rev. Darryl Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at the Holliday, Texas, Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Clarence and Alice Ezzell, Ben was born on April 28, 1935, in Wichita Falls. He served with the United States Navy from May 1951 until May 1955, stationed in San Diego, California. Ben was Owner and President of Ezzell Metal Products, in Holliday, and was an ordained Baptist minister. Ben was also very active in local politics as he served as Mayor and City Council Member of the City of Holliday. He retired after many years of service as the Justice of the Peace for Archer County. Ben loved farming and ranching, as well as riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Elva "Jo" Ezzell on February 12, 2008. Survivors include: daughter, Iva Elvalene Cameron and husband, Gil, of Holliday, Texas; sons, Bennie Ezzell II and wife, Annette, of Coppell, Texas, and James Bradley Ezzell and wife, Amber, of Holliday, Texas; daughter, Cookie Ezzell Moer and husband, Dee, of Rockwall, Texas; sisters, Marie Fletcher, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Shirley Oldham of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother, Clarence Ezzell, of Irving, Texas; grandchildren: Bambi Wortham and husband, Brad, Tiffany Brandenburg, Brad Ezzell, Cayleigh Wills, Hannah and Emma Moer, Leah, Benton and Spencer Ezzell and Nick Fernandez; great-grandchildren; Brianna, Bradley and Brooklyn Wortham; Annabell and Rebecca Brandenburg; and Cye Wills.

The family will receive friends and family from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2011, at Owens and Brumley Funeral home.
