Ms. Mary Emma Gordon Agan , age 78 of East Johnson Street, Temple, died Wednseday, August 30, 2006 following an extended illness.
Ms. Agan was born July 12, 1928 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Carl Gordon and Louise Eady Gordon. She was a homemaker and had been an active member of New Brooklyn Baptist Church for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye A. and Gene Thomason, Carrollton, sons, Edward R. Agan, Temple, James Lee and Joyce Agan, Temple, sisters, Alice and Nevin Mowery, Bremen, Millie Kinney, Temple, brothers, Charles Gordon, Bremen, Robert and Doris Gordon, Temple, Weyman and Carolyn Gordon, Temple and Ludie Gordon, Villa Rica, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Dobbs and brother, J. C. Gordon.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 1, at 4 o’clock from New Brooklyn Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Green, Rev. Ralph Tapley, Rev. Mike McNeese and Rev. Bob Gardner officiating. Music will be provided by Ms. Agan’s children.
The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral Interment will follow in the church cemetery
