The Ladies Aid Society of Locust Grove held on the afternoon of June 20 a memorial sevice in honor of their beloved dead, Mrs. Jack Price and Mrs. Whitaker at which the following papers were read: Mrs. Bob Brown,Pres., Mrs. Minnie Colvin, Sec. Tribute: It is with a sad heart that I attempt to pay this last tribute of love to our departed sister Mrs.Whitaker. Sister Whitaker joined the M.E. Church when 10 years old and lived a consistent member until the day of her death. The life of this lovely Christian character has been one of ministration and service. In the discharge of her duties she was strictly conscientious and based her religious convictions on the word of God. Indeed her whole life was an illustration of Christian graces which were highly personified in her daily walk. Truly it can be said oher that she spent her life in making others happy and how faithfully and tenderly did she minister to the wants of the loved ones in her home. She was of a retiring disposition, undemonstrative yet her life and character reflected the religion she professed and the sweet influence of her character went out through a coicle of friends and aquaintances. We feel deeply the loss of our dear sisterand can only say to the loved ones to look to Him who doeth all things well.
Daughter of James J. Prickett and Harriet J. Grey Prickett.
