Hjordis Annette Gustavson (birth recorded as Gördis Annette Gustafsson) was born in Nederluleå, Luleå, Norrbotten, Sweden 29 Apr 1936 to Karl Edvin Gustavson and
Annette Eleonora Jakobsson.

Hjordis, sometimes called Joanne, came to America, arriving in New York, New York on the ship "Gripholm" (first one with that name) on 01 Jul 1950 along with her parents and two of her sisters.

Hjordis married twice, having a total of 8 children. She loved roses and had quite a green thumb. She also loved to read and sun bathe. Hjordis, died suddenly, tragically, in a car accident on 13 Jun 1988 in Big Bend, Waukesha, Wisconsin on her way to work, and has been missed every day since.

She was first married abt 1957 to Charles Dietrich. They had three children: Christine, Chris, and Simone Suzzette Dietrich: Simone was born and died on 22 Jan 1960. She was buried at the foot of her grandfather's grave, Frederick Dietrich, without a marker, at Salt Lake City Cemetery Plot: 85624 E-14-7-E-3.

Hjordis divorced Charles after Jun 1961.

She later married Phillip Swenson White on 19 Oct 1962 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho, USA. Phillip adopted Christine and Chris. They had five children: Suzzette, Michael Gustavson White (1964 - 2014), Lisa, Teresa, and Phillip Gustavson White (1970-2008).
