Obituary, The Barnesville Enterprise, March 3, 1960, P. 5, Column 7 - Mona Carpenter, 53 Dies in Sanitarium
Mrs. Mona Carpenter, wife of Raymond L. Carpenter 95767819 of 220 Hunts Avenue, passed away Saturday night, February 27 at 7:30 at Belmont County Sanitarium where she had been a patient for many months. Mrs. Carpenter was 53 years of age. She was born in Barnesville, January 2, 1907, a daughter of Joseph and Katherine Slevin and was a member of the Church of the Asumption and the Alter Society of that church. She was united in marriage on November 24, 1926 to Raymond L. Carpenter who survives with one daughter, Darlene of the home; one son, Neil of Cleveland; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews. One brother and two sisters are deceased. The body was taken to the Campbell Funeral Home on North Chesnut Street, where the Rosary was recited Monday evening at 7:30. A High Mass of Requiem was celebrated Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in the Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Father Cornelius Gallagher officiating. Burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
