Jens P. Andersen passed away Tuesday morning, February 8th, at his home, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 26 days.
He was born in Moen, Denmark, February 13, 1870, and came to this country with his parents at the age of nine years. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in 1885, and was a charter member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Orum. He was the youngest and last survivor of his brothers and sisters.
With the exception of the nine years spent in Denmark, his entire life was spent in Washington County.
He was married in Washington County, February 13th, 1894, to Mary Nielsen. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow and four children, two sons, Alfred C. Andersen and Arthur N. Andersen, both of Herman, and two daughters, Evelyn Metzler, of Tekamah; Florence Schmidt, of Blair; also five grandchildren, Helen Andersen, Gordon Metzler, Virgene and Gaye Schmidt, and Kaylene Andersen.

Mr. and Mrs. Andersen retired from active farming in May 1926, and have since made their home in Blair, where he passed away.
He was a kind and loyal husband and father, and enjoyed his family to the fullest extent. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. and Mrs. Andersen and their family had planned and looked forward to their golden wedding anniversary, this Sunday, and it would also have been Mr. Andersen's 74th birthday.
Funeral services are being held today, (Thursday) at 2 o'clock from the Bendorf Funeral Home, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
