Peter Golla, 75, North 78th Ave. West, Duluth, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994,in his home surrounded by family. He was born in Grand Rapids, MN, and moved to Cloquet in 1924. In 1937 he graduated from Cloquet HS and on June 24, 1941, he married Gail J. Johnson. He was an Army veteran of World War II. From 1937 to 1981, Pete worked at Potlatch Corp. retiring as a shift supervisor. In his early years he was a member of United Papermakers Union Local 128, and served as secretary and as president. Later he also served on the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital Board, was a member of Potlatch Quarter Century Club, Cloquet Retired Men's Club, Cloquet Men's Dart Club and was active in the Carlton County DFL for many years. He was a former member of the Cloquet Central Labor Union.
Pete and his wife moved to Duluth in 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Celia Golla.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; four daughters, Connie Schroller and Doris Schleski, both of Huntington Beach, CA, Yvonne (Duane) Bastien of Cloquet and Clara Craig of Duluth; a son, Robert of Superior; a sister, Gloria Hegdahl of Duluth; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until the 1pm services Wednesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cloquet.
Presentation of the American flag will be conducted by the honor guard of the VFW and American Legion posts of Cloquet. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Wefelmeyer Funeral Home, Cloquet.

Specifically: His ashes were scattered over the Wisconsin lake where he loved to fish.
