Elodie Theriault Cyr was the mother of eleven children. She was born 18 Oct 1850 near Saint-Basile, Madawaska, New Brunswick and baptized on 20 Oct 1850 at Saint-Basile, Madawaska, New Brunswick to Remi Theriault and Marie Louise Cyr. She married Eloi "Petite" Cyr dit Crock on 23 Sep 1872 at Saint-Basile, Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada. Her ancestors were Acadians and she came to Montana from Northern Maine via Canadian RRs and the NP Ry in 1875 and then by wagon train from Dakota Territory in May of 1876. Her first two children; Marie-Elise b 1873 and Joseph b 1874; each died in 1875 and are likely buried near Fort Lincoln, North Dakota. They bought a 175-acre ranch in western Montana (Huson, Montana) five miles west of Frenchtown, Montana where they raised their nine children plus wheat, hay, sheep, 40 horses, 200 horned cattle and nursery trees from c.1876 to 1910.
