Obituary for Henry Almond The Newark Evening News Newark, NJ Oct 13, 1963 Entered into Eternal Rest Friday, Oct 11, 1963 "Henry Almond of 18 Quincy Ave, Kearny, died Friday at home of a brief illness. He was 80. Born in Newark, he had lived in Millburn 38 years before moving to Kearny 11 years ago. He owned the David Almond Machine Shop, Inc., of Newark until he sold the business and retired in 1961. The company was founded by his grandfather in 1853. Mr. Almond was a member of Kearny Lodge 195, IOOF. He was a member of the Copesone Lodge 147, F & AM of Kearny for 59 years. He leaves his wife, Mrs Minnie Whittle Almond, a son, Dr. Harold D. Almond of Buckhannon, W. V.; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sutton of Westfield, Mrs. Mildred Hacela of Newark and Mrs. Grace Treible of Newton; a sister Miss Florence Almond of Kearny, and 12 grandchildren. Services will be today at 8:30 p.m. at the John D. Crane and Sons Funeral Home, 241 Kearny Ave., Kearny."
