He enlisted on 5/16/1862 in Dooly Cty, GA for the C.S.A. and served 3 years until 4/23/1863
Co K 62 Georgia Cavalry
He was in 3 battles: Burgess Hill, Hampton's Raid, & a battle in Petersburg,VA

He was the son of Richard Nixon Westbrook & Jossaphine Coley Westbrook (12/5/1812 - 2/18/1848).

He had 9 siblings: Mary C., William T.(also served in C.S.A.), Pamelia Ann Caroline, Alatia C.(also served in C.S.A.), John S., Jossaphine, Clara E., Richard Nixon (Jr), & Houston A.

His first wife was Martha J. Westbrook and they had 2 sons Elbert Westbrook, JR & Little William R Westbrook.
His second wife was Louella Loren McKenzie Westbrook. They were married on 2/4/1825 in Macon County, GA. They had 5 children Eva Lou, Rena Bell, John Coley, and Mary Josephine, & a Infant son (not named).
