Etta Minix Atteberry, 96, of San Antonio, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 7, in a San Antonio care facility. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian. Burial will be in the Meridian Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Etta was born in Meridian, Texas, to the late Charlie Pettiet and Mary Fannis Parish Pettiet. She was raised and educated in Meridian. In May of 1932, Etta married Dewitt Minix in Meridian. The couple were in the grocery and restaurant business in Dallas. She was a member of the Meridian Church of Christ. She later married George Atteberry. In her later years, she spent several happy years living with her son, Bob Minix and his wife, Carla, in San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewitt in 1976, and second husband, George in 1995; son, Bob Minix; sisters, Velma, Annie, and Jo; as well as a brother, Bud.
She is survived by son, Bill Minix and his wife, Lynne, of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Carla Minix, of San Antonio; and many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
