James Truett Caddenhead and wife Zelphy Sides came to Texas from Alabama in the 1850's. They had four children, three daughters and a son, all of whom were born in Texas on the claim settled in Houston County by their father, James Truett Caddenhead. These children were: Mary Caddenhead Currie, Martha Jane Caddenhead Page, Loutisha Caddenhead Currie and James Harrison Caddenhead.
James T. Caddenhead settled on an established claim of 160 acres, in 1856. His son, James Harrison Caddenhead inherited 53 1/3 acres of this claim on December 26, 1885.
