Son of Nicholas Ducray and Françoise/Frances Petitjean Ducray

Emigrated to Meadville area in Pennsylvania in 1839 with his parents and eight brothers and sisters (see HARDY PIONEER FAMILY)

Served in the Civil War. Enlisted at Chicago, Illinois, on 22 July 1862; served in the New York Marine Artillery 1st Regiment, Company G. Discharged 22 Jan 1863 at Newberne, North Carolina.

Was a farmer in the 1880 Illinois U.S. Census. Patented a corn planter.

Lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He returned to Pennsylvania at the end of his life, and passed away in Pettis.
