Carolyn Akins Bradford, 78, born August 13, 1933, in Lawrence County to Paul and Nora Grissom Akins died Friday, February 3, 2012, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Leighton and a co-founder of Lawrence Funeral home where she was employed for 30 years as a Funeral Director.

Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2012, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brian Hutchison and Bro. Roger Lovelady officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, H.P. "Tootie" Akins and Henry Akins both of Russellville.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alton Bradford of Moulton; one son, Steve Bradford and Gail; two daughters, Boyce Bradford of Flat Rock and Pam Bryant and Mike of Tuscumbia; one brother, A.H. Akins of Russellville; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Doil Wayne Akins, Mike Akins, Gary Gene Wood, Chester Quinn, Michael Pennington, Patrick Terry, Shannon Sandlin, and Jeff Harville.
