Harvey Flemister Jr was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, June 15 1926. He was the son of Lillian and Harvey Clark Flemister Senior. Because of the depression, the family moved to many places. Harvey attended 22 schools before high school. After he was 14 years old the family settled in Washington, DC, where he finished growing up. He was inducted into the army 1945 and spent 2 years in the Philippines. Upon returning home he attended the University of Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1950.
Harvey entered the FBI as a Special Agent in June 1951 and was first assigned to Pittsburgh. He was transferred to Detroit where he served as a Field Supervisor. He was then transferred in 1956 to the FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC as a Supervisor in the Criminal Division. He also served in the Inspection Division, and at the time of his retirement in 1977, he was the Section Chief of the Liaison Section of the Intelligence Division. After Retirement, Harvey was an active member of the Washington DC chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI and at various times served in positions of treasurer and Chairman for the Society. His hobby at home was the restoration of antique clocks. He had studied with a master closkmaker and enjoyed this avocation for many years. Harvey was an active and devoted ember of St.Mark's Episcopal Church for more than 20 years. He served St mark's as a Junior Warden and also became a Lay Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed being a strong participant at St.Mark's parish and helping at Riderwood services as well.In 1948 he was married to Eleanor Jane Robey with whom he had 4 children. After Janey died in 1990, he married Marjorie Tilson Jones of Rockville, MD in 1993. Survivors include his wife Marjorie, his sister Joan Priddy, his children Marcy (Drew) Turnbull; Mark (Donna) Flemister; Lee (Lynn) Flemister; Lorna (Jackson) Nafziger; step-children Cliff, Cameron, Curtis (Elizabeth) and Saralyn Jones, and ten grandchildren.
He was buried in the cemetery of St Mark's Episcopel church.
