Kenneth was born in Olympia, WA and lived there all of his life. He came from a large family of 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
He enlisted in the Marines 19 April 1968,at the Seattle Recruiting Office.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 21 October 1968, Kenneth was assigned to 3rd Platoon of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division.
On the night of 3 April, PFC Misner, PFC Slawek, PFC Boule and PFC Lisle were sent out to set up a Listening Post, outside the night perimeter of 3rd Platoon, Echo Company.
During the early morning hours (0435H), at Big Foot, just east of the Laotian border, near the vicinity of Fire Support Base Paris and 19 kilometers south of the Khe Sanh Airfield, the Listening Post was assaulted by NVA troops with automatic weapons fire and rocket propelled grenades.
Kenneth died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the head and body from rocket fire. All four Marines died during the firefight.
Kenneth was single and served his country for 11 months and 16 days and was KIA #40,016.
He had been in Vietnam for 5 months and 14 days.
He was 19 years, 1 month and 2 days old.
