|Birth: ||Aug. 27, 1843|
County Wicklow, Ireland
|Death: ||Nov. 27, 1919|
From http://midlandsroots.com/cavanaugh/pafg02.htm#91 Shortly after the birth of Mary in 1863, their first child, Simon and Margaret moved to England. Their second child, Ann, was born there. Sometime after Ann's birth, the family returned to Ireland.
In the spring of 1867 [evidence suggests it may have been 1866], Simon left for America. Margaret and the two children [Mary Catherine b. 1863 and Ann Elizabeth b. 1865] stayed behind until he could get settled and get enough money to send for them. In the fall of that same year, they did follow him to America, to the coal mining region of Western Maryland. They would live in Ocean and Midland, MD, where the rest of their children were born.
Margaret Cavanaugh Kenny died on Nov 27, 1919 at age 76 after a 17 day bout with bronchitis. It was Thanksgiving Day. Apparently, her son John was with her when she died according to the death certificate.
Her death certificate lists her parents as John Cavanaugh and Mary Cullen. Her son John Kenny validated it.
