SKOWHEGAN -- Ruth L. Hodgdon, 92, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Cedar Ridge Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation in Skowhegan, Maine.

In 2008 at the age of 91, she was chosen to represent Cedar Ridge Center at the Statehouse Hall of Flags for the "Remember ME" ceremony. She got to shake hands with the governor and received a plaque honoring her lifetime achievements.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Hodgdon; her brothers, James, Kenneth and Robert Stoodley; and her sisters, Lillian McKenney and Faye McGlaughlin.
She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Salimone, of Williston, Vt., Shirley Lapointe and her husband, Francis, of Skowhegan, and Charlene Hyde and her husband, Robert, of Madison; her grandchildren, Mark Lapointe and his wife, Laurie, of Augusta, Susan Hanson and her husband, Roger, of Winthrop, Kenneth Lapointe and his wife, Linda, of Arizona, Daniel Salimone, of California, and Lisa Northop, of Vermont; her great-grandchildren, Derek and Nathan Lapointe, Jared Hanson, Will Northop and Sarah Wells; her sister, Grace Lyons and her husband, Arnold, of Bangor; several nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Kitty Laury, of Skowhegan.
A special thanks to everyone at Cedar Ridge Center.
