Anna May McGarvey Eyster, 88, died peacefully in her sleep, July 27, 2013, at her home in Northridge, California. Born Dec. 16, 1924, in Wooster, Ohio, she was Wooster May Queen, and baptized at St. James Episcopal Church in Wooster, Ohio. She is survived by her children, Susan C. Parks, E. Richard Eyster, William J. Eyster, Beth A. Sheets and Barbara Helen Eyster; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William J. McGarvey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. McGarvey and Lola Helen Donaldson McGarvey; sisters, Helen Margaret McGarvey Hall and Lola Catharine McGarvey Taylor; and a brother, James Davis McGarvey, all from Wooster.
She me her husband, Eugene R. Eyster, while working at Lockheed Aircraft in WWII. They were married 57 years.
She was a member of Glamourettes during junior and senior high school in Los Angeles, where she graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1943. The "girls" have continued to stay in touch although there numbers have dramatically thinned over the years.
Ann worked at Lockheed during W.W.II as a Rosie the Riveter on the P-38 Lightning aircraft. She received her BA in management from Redlands University in 1982. She is inurned at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, Calif., in Niche P-38.
Our mother always made a point to say that she was a "No e Ann" in a line of Ann's in the family!
