John G. Lyall was a private in the 53rd Pioneer Infantry Company B, during World War I, battle engagements that he took part in during the war include; St. Mihiel Offensive Sept,12-16, 1918 and the Meuse Argonne Offensive Sept,26 through Nov,11, 1918. He was born in Jefferson (note*Wagoner according to WWI Draft Registration), Ashe County, North Carolina on April,27, 1895 and died in Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia on Oct. 27, 1976. He was married to Ina Venestra Dancy (1904-1978) and had five children, Mack Lyall, Eugene Spencer Lyall, Manzzell Lyall, Robert Blaine Lyall, and Gale Lyall.
