Opal M. Arndt, age 80 of Marengo passed away Saturday morning, June 4, 2005 at Morrow County Hospital Extended Care.

She was born on November 17, 1924 in Worton, Ohio to the late Ernest E. and Zelda B. (Reynolds) Koontz. Opal was a graduate of Cardington High School in 1942 and had formerly owned OK's Fabrics and co-owned Tom Arndt's Trucking Company. She had also worked with Senior's on Center, American Red Cross, Children's Services all of Morrow County. A former member of the Alum Creek Friends Church and the Church of God International, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitching, and flower gardening.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by Children: Brenda E. (Paul) Morse, Bartley E. (Barbara) Arndt, Benjamin E. (Bonny) Arndt, Beverley E. Wallace of Marengo, Bernard E. (Kathy) Arndt of Johnsville, 16 Grandchildren, 26 Great-grandchildren, Brother: Kenneth (Janice) Koontz of Findlay.

Preceded in death by her husband of 30 years: Thomas in 1977, Daughter: Barbara Adams on May 27, 2005, Sisters: Carol Shelley and Faith Koontz.
