JOHNSTON - Carlton Griffin Glover, 52, died Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. at a Greenwood hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Lou Asbill Glover.
He was employed by Maxwell Brothers and Asbill Furniture Co. in Savannah, Ga., 20 years. He was a merchant after he returned to Johnston and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eloise Daughty Glover; a son, Lavern Glover of Johnston; a brother, Derieux Glover of Johnston; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Scott and Mrs. Louise Matthews of Greenwood; and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home by Rev. Lon Knight and Rev. J. Albert Johnson.
Burial will be in the Mount of Olives Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred Wood, Leland Scott, Jack Parrish, J. T. Buford, Oscar Butler and Steven Allen.
Honorary escort will be Tom Wedaman, Stanton Lott, William Forrest, Charles Britt, George Lott, Louis Cox, Cleve Derrick, Lon Courtney Sr., Louis Fulmer, Tupper Johnson, Dr. Richard A. Steadman, Dave Yonce and C. M. Forrest.
