The daughter of the late Shade and Juliana Penix Ward, she was born at Williamsport May 16, 1889, and had resided at Van Lear for the past thirty-five years.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Cecil Daniel, Lowmansville; Estill Daniel, Van Lear; Russell Daniel, Wabash, Indiana; one daughter,Mrs.Hazel Fisher, Van Lear; one brother, Clint Meeks, West VanLear; two sisters, Mary Bell Penix and Sophia Penix, both of Williamsport.
Also surviving are twenty-two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday from the Old Friendship United Baptist Church at Wiliamsport with Winfrey Meek, Arthur Priest and Nim Sturgill.
Burial was in the Pack Cemetery at Williamsport
