She was born August 13, 1926, in Signet, Oklahoma, the daughter of Davis and Carrie (Dixon) Teehee. In July 1959, she was united in marriage to Lyle Bass, who preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Douglas Bass and one brother, John Teehee.
Surviving relatives are one son, Butch Bailey and his wife, Barbara of Cape Fair, Missouri; one daughter, Carolyn Reed of Seligman, Missouri; one brother, Houston B. Teehee of Holiday Island, Arkansas; one sister, Samantha Wilson of Washburn, Missouri; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous other family members.
Ellen received her education in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school. She then attended Business College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For several years she was employed for Hobart Industries as a secretary. Thirty-two years ago she moved from Kansas City, Kansas to Seligman to make her home. She was a member of Maple Grove Church of Christ. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, fishing and embroidering.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 5, 2010, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Ken West will conduct the services. Burial will be in Dent Cemetery, Seligman. Lunch will be served following services at the Washburn Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
