EASTMAN - Mr. Fred R. (Buddy) Bennett, Jr., age 79, of Eastman, died Thursday, March 24, 2005. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennett was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Eastman First United Methodist Church, former owner and president of Bennett and Long Company, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and son of the late Fred R. Bennett, Sr. and Lucile Norris Bennett.

Survivors: wife, Virginia C. (Leathers) Bennett; one daughter, Jane B. Tolleson; one son, Fred R. Bennett III; one sister, Mary Alice Long; one brother, John Allen Bennett; one granddaughter, Virginia Comer Ireland.

The family requests the omission of flowers and contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 5324 Anson Avenue, Eastman, GA 31023 or the donor's favorite charity. -Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home, Eastman, GA (478-374-3262)
