Danny C. Dufphey 89 of Lincoln, NE passed away at home on Thursday, January 19, 2012.

Danny Creedon Dufphey was born April 4, 1922 in Norfolk, NE to Leonard and Loretto McKenna Dufphey. He grew up in Battle Creek, NE where he graduated high school in 1939 and after high school Danny served in World War II as a top turret gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress, "Tondelayo" as a member of the 493rd Bomb Group, known as "Heltons Hellcats". He graduated from UNL with a B.S. in Biology and on November 16, 1951 he married Lola Kroese in Yankton, South Dakota. He spent most of his working years with the Utah State Division of Wildlife Resources. Danny loved sports, especially Nebraska football, the outdoors-fishing and hunting.

Survivors include: Granddaughter, Samantha Turner; a sister, Lorrayne McCarthy; sister in law, June McCormick; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Lola in 2004 and daughter Deb Turner in 2011.

No visitation cremation
