Funeral Services for Albert W. Knees, formerly a bridge carpenter on the New Haven road, who died at his home, 79 Quarry street yesterday, will be held at the parlors of Lieberum and Heaphy, 866 Lafayette street, Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Park cemetery. The Rev. Julius G. Appleton, of Bethany Congregational church, will officiate.
Mr. Knees is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Wenz Knees; two sons, William A., and George E.; two daughters, Mrs. Eli McLellan and Mrs. George Moran; six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Louise Brandt, of Cleveland, Oh.
Albert had his last name changed from Kneiss to Knees shortly after arriving in America in 1882.
Albert married Mary Elizabeth Wenz 16 Sep 1888 in Bridgeport CT. Albert and Mary had 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Their children were Mary (1896-1969), William (1898-1982), George (1899-1963) and Emma (1905-1952). All of their children were born in Bridgeport CT.
