Mrs. Alberta Ates, 75, of Route 1, Magee, died July 30 at Magee General Hospital.
The Smith County native was a .member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a retired teacher.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. July 31 at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barney Padgett, Rev. Randall Childress and Rev. Carl Underhill officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Sharon Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, L. Chester Ates, Magee; two sisters, Mrs. Lola Mae Everett, Magee, and Mrs. G. C. Bobo, Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers were Travis Hughes, Ethel Currie, Carrol Austin, Boyce Cole Jr., and Winston White.
