Mr. C.W. Campbell, more familiarly known throughout Bienville Parish as "Uncle Charlie", died at his home near Castor Monday afternoon at 8:15 following a stroke of paralysis with which he was stricken on Friday night a few days prior to his death.

Uncle Charlie was a Confederate veteran, having served nobly in that memorial struggle between the states.

He was a member of the R.M. Crawson Masonic Lodge. the funeral was held at the Old Castor Cemetery with Masonic honors.

A large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered about his grave to pay their last respects to an honored and much loved citizen.
