He served his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Farrior was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal while serving in Vietnam. He retired after 24 years and settled in Midway for the past five years. "Pop," as he was affectionately called, was a native of Alabama and an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Verlie Jones Farrior; a son, Michael Farrior of Midway; two daughters, Charlene Farrior of Atlanta and Carol Farrior of Markham, Ill.; five brothers, Willie Farrior of Talledaga, Ala., Edward, David and Ricky Farrior of Montgomery, Ala., and Terry Cobb of Washington; two sisters, Mary McCoy of Detroit, Mich., and Ella M. Holt of Cleveland, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
The viewing is from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Dorchester Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway. Pastor Horace G. Oliver will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will be at Midway Congregational Church Cemetery in Midway.
