She was the daughter of Jacob Edward 'Jake' Stine and Mary Allen Stine, having no siblings. She was also the great niece of Will Rogers, and was named after Betty Rogers and Pauline McSpadden Love.

She attended the University of Arizona. She entered AAF flight training in September 1943 at Avenger Field, Sweetwater, Texas.

During her last cross-country flight prior to graduation from flight school out of Blythe Air Base, California, she was killed upon bailing out of her AT-6 #42-44092 aircraft over the mountains near Quartzsite, Arizona.

She was one of only thirty-eight WWII WASPs killed while in the service of their country.
