Funeral services for Mr. Marlin Edgar Champion, 85, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park.
Mr. Champion passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Wetumpka Health and Rehab. He was born on Dec. 19, 1925 in Ensley, AL to Elva Lavon "Ed" Champion and Linnie Irene Peppers Champion. He was a member of Hillabee Baptist Church. He worked for Russell Corp as a Carpentry Supervisor.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Nell Hand Champion of Wetumpka; nieces; great nephews and nieces; sisters-in-law, Helen Thomas of Wetumpka and Helen Hand of Wiggins, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Myrtice Heard and Doris Dean; brother, Forrest Champion.
Flowers will be accepted or donations, may be given to Hillabee Baptist Church, Alexander City, AL.
Radney Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
