Dominic J. LaVerde 70 of North Irwin died Monday August 13 2012 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital Greensburg. He was born February 11 1942 Pleasantville NJ a son of the late Charles and Mary Leuci LaVerde. Dominic was a retired Insurance Salesman for the CSA Fraternal Life Insurance Company of Ill. He was a member and past president of the CSA Lodge Christa 479 of Hahntown. He was a member of the Church of The Immaculate Conception in Irwin. Dom was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Army and the Air Force. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Joseph and Charles LaVerde. Surviving are his wife of 39yrs Maureen Boyle LaVerde, three children Kristin Cavada of Ohio Pyle, Kara LaVerde of Grapeville, Kevin LaVerde of Chelsea VT, two grandchildren Aaron and Kayla, a brother Ralph LaVerde of Swissvale, brothers-in-law Timothy and Daniel Boyle, sister-in-law Linda Taylor, several nieces and nephews and his faithful K-9 companion Clancey. Friends will be received 6-8PM Thursday and 2-4&6-8PM Friday at the Joseph F Ott Funeral Home Inc 504 Oak Street Irwin. Parting prayers will be held 9:00AM Saturday in the funeral home followed by a 9:30Am mass of Christian burial celebrated in the Church of The Immaculate Conception.
